We are delighted to hear from Dr Stuart Gallagher of his appointment as a partner in the Mere Surgery where his GP training took place.
Some of you will already know him as an efficient, cheery, and excellent doctor. Sadly, for us we will be losing him at the end of May.
Since the retirement of Dr Taubman, we have been unsuccessful at recruiting more GPs. Our list size and demand for our care has over many years determined the need for three partners to run the practice. Dr Morgan and Dr Hawdon are the remaining partners left and are helped by Dr Charlotte MacPherson who works six sessions per week.
While we are understaffed, we will be looking at the services we provide and will adapt accordingly to maintain a safe service for our patients and allow the team to maintain resilience to the ever-increasing demand on general practice. Inevitably our waiting times will increase but for urgent problems we will prioritise requests according to clinical urgency and need.
Please give some thought to your problems and consider what is a reasonable waiting time when requesting a consultation.
